The principal of the State of new local Superintendent and educator convinced Friday that he is not out to take over their school but to work in-hand with them to help improve achievement.

"I want to work with You as an equal partner so that we can change the system, so that it can serve as a model for the rest of Michigan and the rest of the country," said John Covington, educational achievements, the Chancellor of the authority of the State system created during the summer to reverse the worst-performing schools in the State.

Covington was in Waterford on Friday for the first of what would become a series of Forums across the country this month and next to seek input from the community of the EAA, the mission and how it should operate to improve student achievement.

About 70 people attended the three-hour meeting Friday, in which people broke into groups to address the questions that put the EAA officials before them.
